What is a CSA:
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and is a way for members of the community to support their local farmers before the season begins. CSA members pay at the beginning of the season for a share of the years harvest. CSA’s are a great way to invest in local agriculture and ensure you know exactly where your food comes from.
With each CSA subscription purchased your family reserves a share of the harvest, while giving the farm an initial financial boost to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and new equipment at the start of the season.
About our CSA:
The share runs for 20 weeks June 2nd – October 13th. We value each weeks share at a baseline of $30.00 worth of produce, this way our share holders get extra value for their early support of the farm. Our share is planned to give our customers a delicious taste of seasonal New England vegetables. The share starts in June with lots of tender spring crops like crisp salad greens, radishes, turnips, and green onions. As the summer progresses the share begins to get heavier with classics like summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, and vine ripened tomatoes. The seasons final shares are filled with the last tastes of summer eggplants and peppers and some delicious fall favorites like potatoes, garlic, onions, and winter squash. Overall, our share strives to provide our customers with a good selection of different vegetables each week.
CSA Pick Up:
Share pick-ups are held every Tuesday 1:00PM – 7:00PM at the Farmstand. The Farmstand is located at 237 Main St. Norfolk, MA. Look for the farmstand trailer with the metal roof. CSA shares will be boxed up ready and for a quick pick-up, or you can stop in and check out what else is on the stand and talk with Farmer Sarah and Farmer Zach. We ask that all share members remember to pick up their share or let us know beforehand if they can’t make it, we can then hold onto the share for you or donate it that week to the Norfolk Food Pantry.
