What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and is a way for members of the community to support their local farmers before the season begins. CSA members pay at the beginning of the season for a share of the years harvest. CSA’s are a great way to  invest in local agriculture and ensure you know exactly where your food comes from.

With each CSA subscription purchased you and your family reserve a share of the harvest, while giving the farm an initial financial boost to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and new equipment at the start of the season.

About our CSA:

The share runs for 15 weeks during the summer season June-September. We value each weekly share at a baseline of $30.00 worth of produce for the full share and $15.00 worth for the half share. During the peak of the summer season, as we have an abundance of produce, shares regularly go over the baseline value. This way our shareholders get extra value for their early support of the farm.

Our share is planned to give our customers a full selection of seasonal New England vegetables. The share starts in June with lots of tender spring crops like crisp salad greens, radishes, turnips, and green onions. As the summer progresses the share begins to get heavier with classics like summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, and vine ripened tomatoes. The season’s final shares are filled with the last tastes of summer eggplants and peppers and some delicious fall favorites like potatoes, garlic, onions, and winter squash. Overall, our share strives to provide our customers with a good selection of different vegetables each week.
